Transition English..Student Poems..Period Five

Blackie

Blackie tumbles into the living room
Falling over her oversized paws
Licking my baby face
Because we both were young
At the same time

Growing up together
We would run fast
She would drag me across the road
So she could show me
New construction sites
Full of wonder and discovery

Blackie left me a couple years ago
I no longer have her company
I long for those days
When she and I
Were young and free

Flower

Every new day is a flower
A beautiful lily in your hands
You can raise your hands to the sun
And let your day shine
Or hide them in the depths of your pockets
Where minutes are the darkest nights
But whichever you choose
Don’t forget to water your plant
So it can bloom
Fragrantly
To the unknown senses of the heart.

My Room

My room is like a wild forest
Of multi-colored clothes, CD’s,
Shoes, cosmetics, and electronics

Upon entering my haven
My TV begs me to enter
A world of fantasy
To escape the school-day routine

My huge, stuffed teddy bear
Makes room for me
In my bed as we watch
Sponge Bob Square Pants
Our favorite show

Finally, I settle down
To my homework
And deep thoughts
Thankful
For this familiar place
I call home

My Best Friend

He shines like a star
His eyes are green like new spring grass

He is the one for me
His dark hair reminds me of midnight calm

I would do anything for him
He is more valuable than gold

I don’t want to lose him
I need him like an ocean needs its salt

He is my granite
Supporting me in my every need

Ode to My Mate

You will come to me
As a spring gentle breeze
You will let me see
And feel your warmth inside
You will let me be the one
That brightens up
From the shine of your eyes

I don’t know when you’ll come
But I think it won’t be long

The moment that I’ll meet you
I will know
I will know
That you are the sun
I need you in my sky

Three

Three different hearts
Three loves
Three occupied places in her heart
Three questions that she asks herself
And only an answer at the end.

One is an impossible love
Only a sweet dream
That comes and goes with the wind
A heart for a thousand
But for no one really.

The second is too far away
It’s a love, hard to believe
Only a love message
Saved on a cell phone.

The third one is present
He is a dreamer
Looking for a true love
Finding her in his way
Wishing that she will accept
him as her prince
Hoping that she someday will be his princess.

Three hearts
Three loves
Three places
And only one winner at the end.

A Mother's Fate

She’ll give you birth one day
She’ll celebrate with you all of your birthdays

She’ll see you walk your first steps
She’ll be there every time you misstep

She’ll be hearing the first words that came out of your mouth
She’ll try to lead you direct you on your best route

She’ll take care of you with precaution and protection
She will see you graduate ready to congratulate

She’ll wait
A mother’s fate…

My Lady

He stares deep in wonder
Her eyes a deep blue
His love is asunder
She doesn’t have a clue
Her hair a rich brown
It reminds him of fall
She makes him quiver
Falling
Falling
Falling…
